Caldwell Aeration Systems
The proper application of aeration for the safe storage of grain requires that the equipment being utilized meets the requirements of the system. With the broad line of Caldwell aeration products available, Chief has the ability to provide the equipment necessary for nearly any aeration requirement.
Caldwell has an extensive range of fans available, which include Axial Fans, Centrifugal Fans, and Inline Centrifugal Fans in 208, 230, 460, and 575 volt to provide the capability of developing the required air flow for the aeration of almost any grain storage installation.
With details such as complete galvanized housing, energy efficient motors, rigid manufacturing, testing and production as well as standard built-in safety standards, Caldwell fans provide maximum performance and dependable service year after year.
Caldwell fans are available in a variety of models and sizes to fit almost any application or aeration system and can be completed with Caldwell air exhaust equipment, either powered or naturally ventilated.
Aeration Systems
Caldwell Aeration Systems are custom designed for each specific application. Choose from a Channel Lock Full Floor Aeration System, Round On-Floor Aeration Systems, Flush Floor Aeration Duct Systems c/w Perforated Corrugated Panels or Drive-Over Perforated Panel Grate Systems in numerous configurations.
Channel Lock Full Floor Systems
- Channel Lock Full Floor Systems are available in 20 or 18 gauge material. 20 gauge floors are designed for standard bin diameters with grain depths up to and including 60’ and bin diameters of up to 60’. 18 gauge floors are designed for standard bin diameters with grain depths up to and including 100’
- Channellock floor sections are nominal 7” wide with deep corrugations. They are manufactured from 40,000 pounds per square inch, 20 gauge or 18 gauge high carbon steel and arched for still greater strength. The 20 Gauge Flooring System is available in a .094 or .050 perforation with the 18 gauge being available in .094 perforations only.
Channel Lock Floor Supports
- Channel lock floor supports are formed from 16 and 18 gauge galvanized steel. 18 gauge floor supports are designed for up to 40’ grain depth. 16 gauge floor supports are designed for use in bins with recalculating devises with a maximum 22’ grain depth or aeration applications up to 100’.
- Caldwell design enables the support to be attached directly onto the floor channel for ease of assembly, and to assure a more dependable support system.
Product Applications
- Full floors are used for in-bin drying systems and full floor aeration systems.
- When very high airflows are required, the 17” support should be used with most standard applications using the 13” high support.
- A variety of other heights of supports are also available.
- To determine floor height: first the unloading system must be considered (well height and tube diameter). Then the air volume must be considered: with low air volumes the shorter supports can be used, but with high air volumes the taller supports must be used.
Round On-Floor Aeration Systems
Non-Corrugated Duct
- Easy to assemble and disassemble. Designed to be placed under grain depths up to 30’ on horizontal floor installations. Do not use in hopper bottom.
- Available in standard perforation (.094) as well as (.050) small hole perforation for small grains (canola).
- Duct pieces nest inside of each other for space saving freight and storage.
- Each piece of duct has a male end that is well marked for ease of installation.
Corrugated Duct
- Manufactured in standard corrugations with many diameters and gauges available. Designed for commercial storage and hopper bottom installations.
Spiral Corrugated Duct
- Manufactured in standard corrugations with many diameters and gauges available. Designed for commercial flat storage and temporary storage.
